Respect for Parents Day Breakfast
8:30 am to 10:00 am
99 Bishop Allen Drive
Cambridge, Massachusetts

Friday, August 1, from 8:30 to 10:00 am, PARENTS FORUM will welcome Kathleen Dennehy, former Commissioner of Corrections for the Commonwealth, to speak on parenting services at a Respect for Parents Day breakfast. The event will be held at 99 Bishop Allen Drive, Central Square, Cambridge. RSVP to info@parentsforum.org

Attendees are invited to bring donations for Children of Incarcerated Parents, COIP. The Waltham-based group provides backpacks and school supplies to children with a parent in prison.

The recent 'Fight Crime: Invest in Kids' report (www.fightcrime.org) shows Massachusetts to have the second highest rate of child abuse and neglect in the country. Further, the report indicated that people abused or neglected as children account for at least 1,400 of the new criminals in the Commonwealth each year. Parenting education and support services -- both in the community and in prison -- can go a long way toward reducing this appalling statistic," said Eve Sullivan, PARENTS FORUM founder, in announcing the August 1 event.

The location is handicap accessible.
