On October 22, 2005 - National Make A Difference Day, volunteer StacyJonh Thomas and co-founder Eve Sullivan presented a PARENTS FORUM workshop at MCI Norfolk.
This second workshop was built on the success of a workshop at the Norfolk prison given in September 2004. Three inmates who participated in 2004 helped co-lead and there were 15 new participants. All gave the program stellar reviews. Fifty more inmates are on a waiting list and we are working to establish an ongoing program at Norfolk.
We especially thank the Louis D. Brown Peace
Institute and director Tina Chery for sponsoring this workshop. The initial contact with the men
at Norfolk came through the Children of Incarcerated Parents project and we also thank Sue Burkhardt,
their coordinator.
