What It Is

Parents Forum is a grass-roots organization concerned with family life issues. Our vision is a shared network of communities, small and large, where we have access to the resources we need to do the best we can at the most important job in the world: raising children.
 
Our mission is to foster honest, respectful and caring communications in families.  We do this by helping parents and their allies develop emotional awareness both in workshops -- organized by community groups in schools and other settings -- and individually.
 
Our workshops for groups of parents and others model and teach effective communication skills. Our goals are to be more responsible in our families and more involved in our communities, as we learn to work through the conflicts and strong feelings that arise in family and community life. Parents Forum workshops and other activities offer opportunities for individuals to get advice, support and information so that each participant can become more confident and competent in managing the day-to-day challenges of family life.
