Networking among parents and parent educators

PARENTS FORUM board members and volunteers take part in activities such as literacy events, crime prevention and safety fairs, and conferences on parenting and family life. We also organize Book and Toy Exchanges in our local communities to benefit other agencies serving families. Please let us know what your parent group, school group or home-schooling group is doing!

Workshops currently scheduled: August 7 and 14 mini-workshops
"How To Tell Somebody Something They'd Rather Not Hear"

12:15 and 12:40 at Wainwright Bank Community Room, 647 Mass. Ave. Cambridge (Central Square, near Starbucks at the corner of Prospect Street).

Skill Development

PARENTS FORUM board members and volunteers lead workshops on the eight questions on family life that make up our Agenda. These workshops can be presented in two, three or four sessions. We also present a one-session workshop "How To Tell Somebody Something They'd Rather Not Hear" based on question three of our agenda. If you are interested in sponsoring or hosting a workshop or workshop series at your school, church, clinic, place of work or other community location, please contact us!

Support

This is 'where the rubber hits the road'! Each of us involved in PARENTS FORUM makes an effort to offer support -- nods and smiles, compliments and words of encouragement, a listening ear or an offer of help -- especially to parents but to others as well, as opportunities present themselves in our daily lives.

...and now our book

Giving tangible form to our ten years of effort in networking, skill development and support, PARENTS FORUM Where the Heart Listens chronicles the program's development and guides readers through thoughtful examination of eight original questions about family life issues. It offers suggestions for parent groups on organizing their own activities. The handbook also includes an extensive list of resources and will be useful to parents and those who work with parents, youth and elders.

Book Reviews

Electronic library of book reviews on parenting and family life issues will be available soon. Please return to this page. If you would like to subscribe to PARENTS FORUM mailing list email to info@parentsforum.org and please include your name.
